In this article I will discuss whether or not Google Adwords is still the best or if the new and upcoming ways of advertising are taking over the way internet marketers show their products, services, and offers to the general public.

I’ve seen a lot of products for making money using affiliate marketing via Clickbank, but I’m not sure what is the best one, or if any of them are even worth trying. Suggestions? (preferably ones you’ve actually used).

The amount of information out there regarding Internet marketing in general and affiliate marketing specifically is really quite staggering.

The problem for someone just entering the field is that there is too much information, too many choices, and this leaves the vast majority of neophytes feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and downright dejected. This affiliate marketing guide aims to cut through some of the clutter.

The key however, is to adopt a sort of “filter” approach. You can download all the free e-books you want and find 50 different ways to do the same thing.

However, you probably want to go with your gut….go with what is well written, that seems to have the interest of the reader at heart, and is not all about self-promotion. With that in mind…I’ve compiled a short affiliate marketing guide for newbies.

1.) Go with a product you believe in. Do not go to the top product on Clickbank and begin promoting it as a newbie. This is a sure-fire way to drive yourself crazy, and further into debt.

Don’t follow the big boys…there are millions of products to promote…amazon.com is a good way to start because they have lots of traffic, lots of products, and it is easy to target the popular ones. When you enter the Clickbank arena, you are competing with top affiliates who are veterans and spend thousands on Adwords. They will beat you with sheer spending power.

Don’t try and hit home runs out of the box…aim for singles, then doubles….etc.

2.) Make a choice on a course of action and go with it. Let me repeat that. MAKE A CHOICE. Too many times newbies make a choice one day, begin working, then switch the next day. Easy to do..but don’t. Make a choice, try it….if you fail…you learned something. Then make another choice and pursue it.

3.) I don’t care what anyone says. There is no “turnkey system for making 00″ per day with no experience. That is selling a fantasy. There is money on the Internet, but it is not a substitute for learning your business….that is required wherever you go, unless you buy lottery tickets as a business plan.

4.) There are great “free” ways to get started in affiliate marketing. They require some time, but are not difficult and easily understood. This represents a great opportunity that never existed 10, 20 or 30 years ago.

5.) As an affiliate guide, make sure you check out he different affiliate programs/marketplaces that are available such as Paydotcom, Click2sell, CB mall,as well as the different large chains such as Target, Amazon, E-bay and many others.
